The Routine of Practicality

The Routine of Practicality

“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” John C. Maxwell

When you think of practical health, what do you think of? I’ll be honest with you and tell you that I had honestly no idea what practical self-care even looked like. I felt that doing things like laundry and dishes and cleaning were things we are supposed to do whether we like it or not and if we choose not to do it, then we choose not to. Practical health and well-being goes deeper than just doing the laundry because by doing those everyday practical tasks we are able to gain control of and keep a sense of order and organization in SOME of the things in our lives. Humans have this innate need and want to control all aspects of their lives, but what they don’t realize is that the tasks they choose to not control or not do well are some of the only tasks that can even be remotely controlled. Practical self-care can be a sanity-saver and help us bring calamity and peace to our otherwise chaotic lives. Practical self-care can also be used to create healthy habits like forming routines that incorporate stronger time management skills which allow us to get more sleep, get on a regular set and scheduled cleaning rotation AND even help us limit our screen time and spend more time unwinding the mind and body. So, how many different practical self-care tasks can YOU list?!?!
