Did you know that currently 1 in 5 Americans will experience mental illness in any given year? With something that has such a negative stigma, that is a large percentage of the population experiencing mental illness. While mental disorders have no known cause, there are various forms of treatment available. It is important to educate ourselves on the topic of mental illness as it is becoming more and more important that we know warning signs that come with mental illness to be better equipped for a crisis. It is important to note that there is a difference between mental health and mental illness. You can have poor mental health but not be diagnosed with a mental illness. Whereas mental illness is a specific mental health diagnosis in which a person MAY be able to experience periods of good mental health.

Whether you or a loved one struggle with a mental illness, know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. This page is dedicated to all of the hardworking, strong, unique individuals looking to take care of their mental health, support a loved one with a mental illness or become an advocate for the mental health awareness community. May is nationally recognized as the awareness month for mental health. That is a fun month for our blog as we will have new content for you on a weekly basis for the entire month.
