Occupations and Professionalism in the Workplace

Do you walk into work early or on time? Late? Are you dressed properly for the job? Are you honest? These are some of the questions you should be asking yourself on a daily basis when it comes to your career. While being a professional might be viewed as being business suit formal, clean-cut and upkept personal hygiene, this is not always the case for all careers. While we unfortunately have biases and negative judgment towards those who don’t work in the typical “office” setting position, we are slowly beginning to recognize the importance of our laborers. According to therapists around the world, professionalism and intellectuality are overlooked self-care categories because they can’t be directly assessed as a tangible objective. Intellectuality, on the other hand, is important because it is the part of our brain that allows us to “think outside of the box” and use creativity to problem-solve or begin a masterpiece. Combined you have individuals who demonstrate respect, integrity, honesty, and ethics in the workplace while also striving for success by using their intellect. Using these parts of the mind to function in the workplace is very important because not only is the mind working together with a team of other minds to help the world simultaneously take a step forward, but it is also helping the individual to make their work mindful and meaningful. When our work is meaningful it gives us the intrinsic value that gives our spirit a sense of purpose in the world. Feeling wanted and needed in various settings is more rewarding than most would place it to be. Posts will be made on the second Monday of the month. Stay tuned to learn more about how YOU can become a better individual in the workplace.
